Spreading the Word - by Trolley! All eyes turned to the Green trolley, the chants, and the noise of bells as we rolled through Ala Moana Park & Waikiki Saturday night. Picnickers raised their fists, diners put down their forks, pedestrians stopped to take photos, arms were raised, people clapped, motorists honked. We often read that 75% of people in the U.S. support Roe v. Wade - but Saturday evening we saw it and felt it. This is what people WANT to see. Get ready for the WEEK OF ACTION May 8-14 and spread the contagion!

What happened April 9th? We Are All Lizelle Hererra! What's Coming Up?

April 8 was a day of wearing green -- on campuses, in offices, to restaurants and clubs. Then on Saturday, April 9 hundreds of people - mainly students and youth, in over 12 cities across the U.S. hit the streets to call people to Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights. To get a sense of what happened, watch this short video compiled by RU4AR or this longer one that includes excerpts of speeches and interviews compiled by "Pete on the Street". In Honolulu our march was marked by urgency, great energy, new faces, green bandanas and clothing. After a short rally our group of about 60 people headed for the saturday Kaka`ako Open Market. People shopping, eating, and sitting under the trees suddenly looked up when they heard our loud chants and bells - many raising their fists, giving us a thumbs up, or taking photos. April 9: March to Keep Abortion Legal Organized by Refuse Fascism Hawai`i, supporters of  riseup4abortionrights.org , and others. 10am: Gather at Kaka'ako Gateway Park at the intersection of Cooke & Ala Moana Blvd. Join people across the U.S. who will marching in cities and towns – a sea of green displaying our cause and our determination to refuse to allow the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade! Where to be: Gather at the corner of Ala Moana Blvd/Cooke Street and get ready to march! The march will begin by 10:30am and will take us down Ala Moana Blvd and past the crowded Kaka'ako Open Market and will return to our original point. . There is parking on nearby streets and free parking at Kaka'ako Waterfront Part at the end of Cooke.    The march is ~1.5 miles.  Those unable to march are urged to come and hold signs along Ala Moana until the march returns.  There will be a small tent at the park as well as a table with information and materials.  ...
